New Blog and Looking Ahead
This blog is a new venture for me and its purpose is for our customers to find exciting updates on what we have been busy doing, or are going to do in the weeks ahead, including weddings, bridal shows, special offers and any promotions we may run during 2017.
Looking ahead, we have lots of beautiful weddings coming up, at some of our favourite venues.
Top of the list is Stoke Rochford Hall, near Grantham, in Lincolnshire, which is such a beautiful venue and definitely a firm favourite of mine. From a photographers point of view it has everything a photographer could wish for. It is one of those venues with lots of space and character for indoor photography, if we are unfortunate enough to get a wet wedding day and beautiful gardens and facade when working outdoors and most importantly they still only book one wedding per day! We will be visiting Stoke Rochford Hall several times this year, as it is a very popular wedding venue amongst our clients.
Other venues we will be working at later this year in Peterborough are; Orton Hall, The Marriott Hotel, The Bull Hotel and The Holiday Inn. Followed by hotels on the outskirts of the city such as, The Bell Hotel in Stilton, The Haycock Hotel in Wansford, The Queens Head Hotel in Nassington, Sibson Inn and Grange Farm near Wittering.
A venue we will also be visiting several times this summer and worthy of a special mention is Normanton Church, at Rutland Water. Such a firm favourite, amongst couples looking for a wedding venue for a civil ceremony. It is unique in being built as a Church, but registered for civil ceremonies only. It was still a museum when we covered the very first wedding ever held at this stunning venue, but a lot has changed since then and they now have up to three weddings per day with couples booking this beautiful venue from far and wide.
Back in our home county of Lincolnshire we have summer weddings booked at the following hotels, Charlotte House in Lincoln and The Assembly Rooms in Lincoln, The Dower House in Woodhall Spa, The Petwood Hotel, Woodhall Spa and The Golf Hotel in Woodhall Spa, Belton Woods Hotel near Grantham, Whaplode Manor Hotel near Spalding, Springfield’s Exhibition Centre in Spalding, Boston West Golf Centre near Boston and The Poachers Inn at Kirton Holme. Please note we are only 20 minutes from Peterborough City Centre and distance is no object,
A wedding I am particularly looking forward too is at Godmanchester Church, followed by The Old Bridge Hotel in Huntingdon where we will have a Russian Bride wearing a Russian styled dress. I intend on making use of the fiver Ouse that runs alongside the hotel, just before darkness falls , with the mediaeval bridge as a backdrop. We will also visit the Chinese Bridge in Godmanchester for photos too. I am sure we will capture some amazing images for the couple and we are looking forward to it immensely.
Our wedding photography skills have also been booked for weddings at Stapleford Park Hotel in Leicestershire. This is such a beautiful venue set within a large estate in the Leicestershire countryside . It has beautiful and extensive gardens and boasts its own Church, and golf course on the estate and is a popular wedding venue with national and international clientele.
We have also covered weddings recently at, Slepe Hall in Ramsey, The Thatched Barn in Yelling, The Black Barn at Childerley Hall near Cambridge, South Farm near Royston and Hotel Felix in Cambridge.
Fortunately I won’t have long to wait for our first wedding of 2017. It is at Knights Hill Hotel, near Kings Lynn in North Norfolk on the 10th January! I have visited the venue and made a plan for both dry and wet/cold weather, checked the equipment and dusted off the lenses and we are ready to go!
January is the month for Bridal Shows and I will be exhibiting at the following events and hope to see you there:
The Marriott Hotel in Peterborough, on Sunday 8th January. The Marriott Hotel is one of the area’s top wedding venues and very popular with our clients. I have provided wedding photography coverage at this venue on many occasions over the years. A venue I am very familiar with.
The Holiday Inn, Peterborough, on Sunday 15th January. The Holiday Inn is another top wedding venue in our area and also very popular with our clients. I have also provided wedding photography coverage at this venue on numerous occasions, even from way back when it was known as, The Moat House Hotel!
