St Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church Photography | Fr Jim Burke
Tuesday 30th April 2019, marked the 25th year (Silver Jubilee) of Fr Jim’s ordination into the priesthood and a day of celebration with family and friends, ended with a celebratory mass at St Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, in Spalding, Lincolnshire, where Fr Jim is the current parish priest. The Church was so full that lots of people had to stand for the mass, a great testament to Fr Jim’s popularity. Several in attendance had travelled great distances to celebrate with Fr Jim, with friends from Ireland, and Rome in attendance and Bishop George travelled from India to be present.
A total of 2 Bishops (Bishop Malcolm from Nottingham and Bishop George from India) and 23 priests took part in the celebrations. Members of the parish family had decorated St Norbert’s Church beautifully for the event – so colourful. After mass, there were presentations in the Church hall with food, drinks and a cake for Fr Jim to cut. An Irish band provided musical entertainment.
